The Grant Thornton Top Track 250, saw Hadley Group enter the league table of mid-market growth companies for the first time: ranked at number 225 and acknowledging its accelerated turnover of £127.7 million, with profits rising 22% to £11.3 million.

Not only does the Midlands based manufacturer produce a very diverse product portfolio based on its internationally patented UltraSTEEL® process – ranging from UltraBEAM®sections and its new UltraZed®Purlins, through to support structures for vineyards – it is also now developing specially engineered solutions for the automotive and other market sectors.

Group Chairman and Managing Director, Stewart Towe, commented: “Our inclusion in the Grant Thornton Top Track 250 recognises our strong growth over the past year, with sales up by 16% from £109 million to £127.7 million, and placing us at number 225 in the table.”

The father and son team of Stewart and Ben has steered the Hadley Group to ever-greater success by concentrating on both service and innovation across its many markets. As the Sunday Times special supplement mentioned, the group not only supplies construction clients in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and from its facility in Thailand, but is also working with world renowned motor manufacturers: including Jaguar Land Rover and Porsche to engineer new applications for its technology.

Stewart Towe continued: “From our perspective, this strong growth in turnover has been created by our successful partnerships with our broad customer base: developing the new generation of products: offering improved strength and lightness – therefore making them more effective by design than rival products in the marketplace.

“We intend to continue this momentum by growing sales to around £150 million next year, with the aspiration of turnover hitting £200 million by 2020. We will do this by both nurturing existing partnerships and establishing new ones: to not only strengthen our UK business, but also grow our global footprint.

“This organic expansion will also include our continued development and release of new intellectual property, for the benefit of our clients in their specific, even bespoke marketplaces. It is important, though, that this trajectory is about controlled, balanced growth – within our capabilities – we will not be outgrowing them.”

The Top Track 250 placement is just the latest accolade for a family business which has seen many landmarks over the decades: including receiving the Queens Award for Enterprise: Innovation – both in 2006 and 2014.

The Hadley Group’s team will receive their plaque at the Top Track 250 Awards Dinner in London on November 21st.
